        Hi all,

I noticed a difference between the speaker modules of the Egger and Braun era.
It seems that Egger used an industrial transformer and Braun used an self wound transformer.

Probably this was a commercial decision.

Anyway, the DC coil resistance differs a lot

The Egger has a resistance of 245Ω while the Braun has a resistance of  26Ω.

It seems that these self wound transformers are used till the RWO era.

Here a picture of the Egger (left) and Braun (right).

        Many greetings

        speaker differences

It likely all came down to costs with Braun always trying to make the manufacturing of the blocks for less cost.

Remember the beautiful Egger battery case which actually had a power switch and two screws to hold the cover in place.  Braun eliminated both!

Hope that the new year is treating you well!

          Best,
          M.
