The Ausbausystem 3 S was the Schülerübungssysteme version of the Ausbausystem 3 model and added the A5 format 1200 Schaltalgebra Lehr-und Lernkartei (teaching and learning cards) documentation.

A nice addition to the S version was the AC adaptor to eliminate the need for the 9v battery.
